Violations

The defendants, along with others, colluded to fix the prices and supply of meat products sold in Quebec and across Canada, thereby artificially increasing prices and harming competition. These actions appear to violate Quebec civil law and federal competition laws.

Proposed Class

All persons, entities, partnerships or organizations resident in Quebec who purchased at least one product included in the “meat categories” referred to in the email sent my Michael McCain on March 22, 2007 at 14h12 (including beef, chicken and pork), produced, supplied or sold by one of the Defendants.

Remedies sought for consumers

Compensatory and punitive damages in amounts to be determined.
